Deborah Sweeney is a contemporary painter, whose work is well known in the East Midlands. Her atmospheric paintings are concerned with light and colour in a modern impressionistic style. Her subject matter is broad and diverse including local landscapes and snow scenes, allotment scenes, still life and interiors with figures. Her main influences are Bonnard, Ken Howard and Fred Cuming. Her work is regularly represented at the 'Bull Yard Gallery' in Southwell, 'Galerie' in Newark, the Royal Academy Summer Show, and Southwell 'Open Studios'.
